Industrial Action Update - Tuesday 2nd May 2023.
Following on from the industrial action letter sent last week, we are writing to update you in regard to the industrial action by members of the National Education Union (NEU) on Tuesday 2nd May 2023. As far as we are aware, the current position is that the industrial action is still planned for next week, on Tuesday 2nd May 2023.
In the event that the strike does take place, then the school will be making the following arrangements. Obviously if this position changes we will update parents and carers as soon as possible; but we are sending the letter out now as we wanted to give parents and carers early notice. We have undertaken a risk assessment based on projected staffing levels, whilst also following both national and local guidance. In consultation with the Chair of Governors the following has been agreed:
• Tuesday 2nd May: The Year 2 class will be closed (Mr Bye’s class). All other classes will be open.
• Pupils from the closed class will be able to access remote education via the Oak National Academy’s website by following this link: https://classroom.thenational.academy/subjects-by-key-stage/ Parents and carers may choose subjects, lessons and activities for their child that they feel will be most appropriate. The decision to close this class has not been taken lightly. It is essential that we ensure the safety of pupils, staff and visitors to the school at all times. However, due to staffing levels it will not be possible to ensure the safety of all pupils.
Full details will be sent to parents/carers via Parentmail.
