International Space Station

On 21st October 2024, the pupils had the opportunity to reach for the stars when they were able to participate in a call with astronaut Sunita Williams who was orbiting Earth on the International Space Station (ISS). The audio call took place at 2:57pm with the whole school community present. All pupils were given the opportunity to come up with their own questions and sixteen pupils had the opportunity to ask Sunita. The project was coordinated by Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) to whom we are very grateful. The BBC came into the school to record the occasion as only four schools in England have been chosen, to speak to the ISS, this year. Below, you can listen to the audio from the call and reports from a variety of media outlets.

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for the pupils and has created lots of happy memories!
