Industrial Action Update - Thursday 27th April 2023.

Following on from the industrial action last month month, we are writing to update you in regard to further industrial action by members of the National Education Union (NEU). As far as we are aware, the current position is that the industrial action is still planned for next week and early May. The scheduled date is Thursday 27th April.

In the event that the strikes do take place, then the school will be making the following arrangements. Obviously if this position changes we will update parents and carers as soon as possible; but we are sending the letter out now as we wanted to give parents and carers early notice. We have undertaken a risk assessment based on projected staffing levels, whilst also following both national and local guidance. In consultation with the Chair of Governors the following has been agreed:

• Thursday 27th April: All classes will be open except for Year 2 and Year 5 (Mr Bye’s class and Mrs Malyan/Mrs Herbert’s class). These 2 classes will be closed.

• Pupils from the closed classes will be able to access remote education via the Oak National Academy’s website by following this link. https://classroom.thenational.academy/subjects-by-key-stage/ Parents and carers may choose subjects, lessons and activities for their child that they feel will be most appropriate.

Further details will follow via Parentmail.
