Year 5 and 6 Maya Day
Our Year 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed an incredible journey into the world of the ancient Maya during a special workshop. They experimented with traditional writing techniques, crafted their own clay pots inspired by Mayan designs and explored the unique number system used by this fascinating civilization. The children also examined replica artifacts, gaining insight into daily life and beliefs. To bring history to life, they watched a dramatic re-enactment of a Maya sacrifice, which really helped them understand the beliefs and traditions of the time. It was a day full of creativity, curiosity and hands-on learning!
